Lesley Dye – Chair of Trustees
Lesley brings a wealth of experience having served as a police officer with Essex Police for 31 years, specialising as a detective, leading on public protection, including child safeguarding and domestic abuse as well as change management. Subsequently she worked with the Metropolitan Police to deliver a force wide public protection project for frontline officers. She provides safeguarding & welfare guidance to a local sailing club.
Becky Eighteen – Treasurer
Becky has been a Chartered Accountant for over 20 years, originally within a practice but later branching out on her own. She now runs a successful accountancy business, specialising in supporting female entrepreneurs. Outside her professional life she has undertaken a diverse range of activities including working for Samaritans as a listener and looking after children as a chaperone with local theatre groups.
Lesley Parks
Lesley has over 40 years experience working in the financial sector across various fields – Manufacturing, Retail, Construction and Charity. This included over 12 years as the Company Accountant for a Manufacturing company. Her latest role for 3 years involved successfully setting up an Apprentice scheme for over 40 apprentices in Construction across 3 counties and the London are aliasing with over 9 colleges and training institutions. She is a mother to 2 daughters and is keen to see all individuals overcome obstacles to achieve their potential.
Liz Daughters
Liz Daughters is a retired local government manager, qualified coach and mediator and an Associate member of the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development).
Liz spent many years as a tribunal member on Medical Practitioner and Police Misconduct panels and has a wealth of experience in equality and diversity, change management, conflict resolution, community engagement and strategy and policy development and working with the voluntary sector.
Liz also has experience of chairing and sitting on boards as a non exec director both with charities and a community interest company.
Michael Aydeniz
Michael has spent more than 20 years working in risk and compliance roles for various payments companies and is a risk governance specialist, sitting on a number of boards. Besides his work as a trustee for Safe Steps, Michael also chairs the board of governors for a primary school in South Essex, where he also acts as the lead governor for safeguarding.
Kirstie Imber
Kirstie is an Associate in the Dispute Resolution department at Fieldfisher, a leading European law firm. She specialises in commercial litigation as well as advising on a wide range of criminal matters and financial sanctions. She has many years of pro bono experience, including helping organisations with immigration and housing matters and working with litigants in person at Chelmsford County Court. Prior to qualifying as a lawyer she worked as an academic researcher and lecturer, focusing on the censorship of art and culture in Iran.
Louise Skinner
Louise has 17 years experience working in communications for high profile organisations across the not-for-profit, publishing and television sectors. She is a senior digital leader, having led content, user experience and digital engagement strategies for large, mission-driven organisations to increase reach, engagement and income. She was national women’s charity Refuge’s first Digital Manager, and brings a solid understanding of VAWG to her role as trustee at Safe Steps.
